So I am packed and just waiting for my sister to arrive home from work. We are off on a girls weekend to celebrate a friends birthday. No kids!!!!!!

Thanks to ScrapManda for a great arvo at the Girl Guides Fundraiser. I managed a couple of LO's and got to catch up with some great friends.

Jacob has been sick over the past few days but looks and feels a lot better now.

I am off for a girls weekend this weekend. My friend Sam is turing 30 so a group of us are taking the weekend off from the kids and family. Really looking forward to it.

Well I havent posted any LO's for a while so here goes.

Its been a while

I haven't blogged in a while. My PC was being a little temperamental but I have been able to fix it. I also have been getting some massive Internet bills each month which were totally out of control. I called Telstra to talk about it and discovered the problem was likely from an external 'attack'. So I have upgraded my security and it looks like the problem is gone. Thank goodness!

So what has been going on with me -

Following on from my last post, I did make it out to Stanthorpe. I had a lovely time out there, Thanks guys!
I had a friend visit last Saturday for a day of scrapping, we chatted and scrapped the day away. It felt good to be back into it. So below is what I got done.
I just have to send my congrats to Chelle and Manda for being published in the latest Scrap booking Memories Mag. It is hard to believe that SM had never published Manda before and Chelle has never been published. The LO's are fantastic!!!!! Oh and Manda two DD are also in the mag to in the children section!!!! Congrats girls!
So the next Weekend away is fast approaching (this weekend), I am so looking forward to it, the usual suspects and a few more will be in attendance so Warana watch out here we come! I hope to be a scrapping machine I have so much to do! So watch out Chelle, Manda I feel some scraplifting coming on LOL. I will have to fit in some sing star though, once I get started I cant stop.
I had a lovely Mothers Day, Jacob bought me some slippers, choccies and flowers, just what I wanted! We had breakfast at mums which included my eggs, bacon and pancakes yummo.
My nephew Oliver 3 1 /2 after being told last week that it was Mothers Day on Sunday by his Papa asked innocently- "When is it boy day?". He was convinced that after the presents were given and opened that Mothers day would be over and boy day must begin!
The family headed up to Kings Beach on the Sunshine Coast on Saturday, it was a beautiful day up there, below are a few pics from the day as well.

I haven't been around much lately, mind you there isn't much to tell either.

Jacob and I are feeling a lot better after the break in, the week after was is bit hard we didn't get much sleep. Jacob spent the school holidays with his grandparents in Nambucca Heads and from all accounts have a great week.

I am off to Stanthorpe for the long weekend to visit Tina and family. I have written it here in the hope of convincing Tina I am definitely coming. I have cancelled a few times on her so I can understand her non believing manner LOL !

That is about it really. I haven't done any scrapping, maybe this week.

Up and Down Weekend

Well life certainly throws different challenges our way sometimes.

Well I arrived home sat morning to discover my house had been broken into!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My TV is gone, all of my jewellery and Wayne's, a friends camera, the rooms are a bit of a mess. The neighbours told me a car across the road was stolen as well. Must have needed to take my stuff! According to the Police there is a pretty huge crime wave going on in my suburb right now. The nasties didn't leave an ounce of evidence.

I spent today (Sunday) cleaning fingerprint powder off everything in addition to cleaning whatever I think they touched. In my mind though they touched everything!

Jacob was really freaked out at first especially when he realised they had been in his room. He has been brilliant though, we got home last night and when we went to go into the house is looked at me and said 'its OK we will go in together". He slept with me last night and said he wants one more night with me.

I have heard so many stories of how violated you feel and always always had sympathy for others but until it happens to you as the saying goes it does really mean anything. Although I was lucky we weren't home as apparently this has been happening a lot I still feel jittery. I think I got up three times last night to check the doors and windows!

OK so on to nicer stuff, it was my Birthday yesterday, I know what a weekend, I spent most of the day waiting for police stuff etc but after that was all done I headed to mums for a family afternoon and dinner. A couple of friends joined us as well, it was a lovely evening! My sisters bought me some new jewellery a gold necklace and earrings which i love!!! Mum gave me new beside lamps which are gorgeous and we spent today rearranging and cleaning the room. guess that was a silver lining to the break in, it made me clean, clean and rearrange the house.

I didn't participate in the final weekend of ScrapChats CC as I just didn't feel up to. GypsyAngel thanks so much for the month of fun. Thanks to the Mods Sponsors, Chelle, Manda, Miss C. The gallery of work is outstanding, go and check it out!

Easter Weekend Wrap Up

Well the weekend turned out busier that I thought it would be. Sunday was a lovely day, it was so much fun watching the nephews with Jacobs help hunt for eggs! Little Oskar picked up his basket several times during the day to go back outside to see if there were anymore. We had a huge breakfast which included the best scrambled eggs in the world made by my sister Shona, panckakes and much much more. We convinced mum to make a roast so dinner was yummo!

I didnt get as much scrapping done as I would have liked. I am still working on the ScrapChat Challenge, not sure if I will get this completed tonight. I have completed 3 of the challenges at StampShak with one more to go, might have resign myself that it wont get done.

Also ScrapManda and I are in a photo swap and she has completed my page, check out her blog. I love it, thanks so much Manda!

Easter Saturday Round Up

Here are a few pics from our family afternoon today.

Easter Table decoration, there would be similar decorations on every Swedish table today! The bowls are actually eggs made of plastic so are used every year, these are filled with lollies, we get as many as we can from IKEA!

Hi Everyone

Wishing you a Happy Easter.

I have a few things on this weekend in the scrap world, we are now into Week 3 of the ScrapChat's Mega March CC. The challenge is to make a mini album, this is certainly a challenge for me as I have never made one before. But I will give it a go. It is also CC time at StampShak, this starts tonight. Hopefully I will get most of the challenges done the these is "Green". No idea what it means, the colour green, recycling?

On the family front tomorrow we celebrate Easter as the Swedes do just for my BIL. All it means really is food, drink and then more food! Sunday will have an Easter hunt for the nephews and hopefully if we can convince mum she will cook a roast!

Another Week Gone

Halfway through March already, what is going on!!!! I havent really got too much to talk about, I am still not that well, the chest infection hasnt cleared so the Doctor sent me for a chest xray last week and another set of blood tests. I will get the result on Wednesday.

As part of ScrapChats Mega Long Cyber Crop I held a crop at my house yesterday, it was timed with SandyB' Brisbane visit. It was great to see Gypsy, ScrappinKylie, Miss C, Peggy, Sandy and Lynnie. Lynnie bought her shop stock with her, just love a crop when you can buy new stuff (not that I need anything really). Lynnie stayed the whole weekend which was great, and I will say a big THANKS to LYNNIE - you know why!

I managed to get this weekends challenge which was set by Scrapmanda completed which is posted below.

Jacob had his last game of Cricket yesterday, he had a great game, scored a couple of boundaries and bowled really well too! It is a shame the school term is so short this year as they only got to play 6 games. Acually 5 games as the first game was rained out!

I took part in the Cyber Crop at Stamp Shak over the weekend. I managed to get all 4 challenges done! I am not all that happy with the final product, I had trouble getting into a groove. I will show them anyway.

I know I said I would get to Julies tag but I will leave that to tomorrow (need to have something to blog about). Gypsys challenge of blogging everyday for the month of Feb is almost over. I only missed a couple of days so I am happy with that.

Saturday Chatter

Hi All

It was pretty hot here in Brissie today we reached 39 degrees! It has been a mild summer so I felt every degree!

Jacob had cricket this morning, the poor boys were absolutely melting in the heat. Jacob took a wicket, he was so happy.

This arvo we came home and put the air conditioner on, I scrapped and watch a DVD with Jacob. We then visited my sister and stayed for a yummy roast dinner, thanks Shona!

I have finished 3 challenges so far for the Stamp Shak Cyber crop. One more to go! It is supposed to be pretty hot tomorrow as well so sounds like a scrap day to me. Will post the pics tomorrow night.

Here a couple of LO's I completed this week. Thanks to Thomas for the use of his camera and sending them to me. Also I think I got my inspiration for these LO's form Scrapmanda and Chelle when I was with them at Scrapbooks etc crop a few weeks ago, thanks ladies!

Shave for a Cure

Lyn over at A Passion for Craft is going to hold a Crop for a Cure night in April.
I have pledged that if $500 is raised I will shave my head. I think I am aiming low as I am sure we will raise much more than that. I will post some more news about this in the coming days.

I finished a LO for the shop tonight too but I will wait until Lynnies sees it before I post it here.

QLD ROAR lost the semi-final tonight. I was a great game and went in to overtime. They had a great season so I look forward to next year.

Not much to report tonight. Jacob has cricket tomorrow as long as the weather holds out. He was so disappointed that it was rained out last week.

I will hopefully get some scrapping done this weekend so I have something to show you.

We will be going to my sisters on Sunday to hopefully watch the QLD Roar beat the Jets to make the A-league grand final. GO ROAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wayne is currenlty stuck in Mackay in the floods. He cant get back to work at this stage and couldnt fly out to come home today either. The airport is still closed! So it is a motel for him and waiting to see how it all settles down.

Weekend Run down!

Well Jacob and I had a great weekend. I would love to show you some pictures but after several incidents of dropsies over the last few months my camera has decided it no longer wants to work.

Friday -
I met up with my good friend Lynnie to look at new products for her online store (A Passion for Craft). The papers are absolutely gorgeous and should be up on her site in the next few days!

Then we went to the Q-League Semi Final at Suncorp Stadium with most of my family and my Lynnie and her bunch. It was a great night, the atmosphere was awesome and the score line was even better 2-Nil to the QLD ROAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday - Jacob was due to have his first game of cricket for the season but due to the recent rain the feild was too wet and the game was cancelled. So instead we went to Dreamworld with Lynnie and family. We had a fantastic day, all of the kids got on really well together it was great to see. Lynnies DH is a bit of a dare devil and goes on most of the rides, he went on the Tower of Terror with me, I am glad I did as it was incredible! He was not able to convince me to go on the Giant Drop though! Jacob was really brave he went on the Moto Coaster (motorbycle roller coaster) the Tower of Terror which he declared was 'Mad Fun'. We were completely exhausted when we got home.

Sunday - we were going to meet Lynnies family again and go to Whitewater World but Jacob was really tired and sore from the day before. So him and I spent the day watching Star teck Voyager DVD's and lounging around.

Monday Night Chatter

Well Jacob had a great 1st week back at school, he has a new teacher this year who he really likes. He has also decided he wants to be involved in school sports, so this term he starts Cricket. The first game is this weekend. He is really looking forward to it. He also had soem exciting news last week, one of his friends from a previous school started at Canterbury this year. There was only one snag in the great week and that is Jacobs formal school hat seems to have magically disappeared, we have looked everywhere. So he is hatless until stock arrives at the uniform shop as they dont have his size.

Gypsyangel has set a challenge at Scrapchat to all us bloggers, to blog every day and make a comment on someone elses blog daily as well. I am starting a few days late due to some technical issues with my PC but all appears to be well now. So I will see how I go!

This coming Friday night my good friend Lynnie and family are coming to stay, we are off to the QLD Roar Soccer Semi Final Game, the rest of my family are going as well. Cant wait! Go THE ROAR

Australia Day Fun

Hi Everyone

Well the family went to our great friends Kerri and Adams yesterday for a great party. We has an absolute ball. We introduced my Swedish BIL brother who just arrived in Aus to a great aussie day! We arrived and were given a choice of aussie hats, headbands, key rings, tattoos and stubbie coolers. The house was decorated with flags as well.

We shared the day with friends and met some new people, we sang, we played cricket in the street, played pool, played in the swimming pool, ate and drank. Although was the designated driver so it was Coke and water for me.

There were heaps of kids and they all played brilliantly together!

After being sick and lying low for so long it was great to get out and share some time with friends.

Update, Sharing and News

Hi Everyone

Thanks to everyone for your best wishes while I have been sick. I am on the mend just a little tired still. I will hopefully make it back to work this week.

Also a big thanks to my Mum who has taken care of Me, Jacob and my house while I have been sick. You are a superstar!!!!

Now for some exciting news - my good friend Lyn Charlton has made one of her life goals happen and has just opened her on Craft and Scrapbooking online store. The site looks great and she has some great products with heaps more to come. Please pop over and visit. (Click on the below banner)

I made some changes to my blog a couple of days ago not sure I like it might try a few other looks. I lost most of my links etc so if you are missing from my blog dont worry I will put to back promise.

I went to an all day crop on Saturday, I didnt make the whole day but I had a lovely time catching up with Scrapmanda and meeting Shannon. I even got a few layouts done! Here are some of them along with a couple I did over the chistmas break.

Hospital for me

Hi All

Some of you may have known I was in hospital for most of this week. For those who didn’t know well you now you do. I had a ‘000’ moment by myself at home on Monday and got to ride in an ambulance to the QEII hospital. I had a fever, low blood pressure and huge lumps on the right side of my neck that were so painful I thought I was going to pass out. I realised I must have been pretty sick when I was taken in straightaway to a cubicle on my own even though people were lined up in the halls. I saw a doctor very quickly considering how busy they were, I heard that not long after I arrived they had a “bypass’ placed on the emergency room and no more patients could be transported there.

It was also quickly discovered that I couldn’t be treated at QEII as they don’t have an Ear, Nose and Throat department so I was put on a drip and transported to the Mater Hospital where I was placed directly into a ward. I was seen by the head ENT Registrar within a coupe of hours. I had / have Quinsy (no idea how to spell it) it is basically tonsillitis gone wrong. Instead of the infection staying in the tonsils it didn’t like it there so went to visit my lymph nodes and decided that was a nicer place to be. I was placed on IV antibiotics and IV penicillin and some pretty strong pain killers. I spent 4 days and 3 nights, during this time I was only seen by the registrar and I saw her twice a day. The nurses said she normally doesn’t see people as often unless they are really sick, I have to say that made me feel better because I thought I was very sick but I am not a good sick person!

Anyway I wasn’t allowed to come home until I had 24 hours of no fever which finally occurred Thursday. So home I went at 1pm! I have been staying at mums since though as I don’t feel well enough to look after myself yet I am home for a few hours tonight and I will see how I feel. I am not sure when I will be back at work I am being reviewed on Thursday next week they may still decide to operate to reduce one the lumps that hasn’t gone down at all.
I want to thank Tina for keeping me sane and calling me twice a day to let me know what was going on in the world and for making me laugh. LOVE YOU!

Also I would like to thank my work collegues who sent me the nicest flower box and to Peggy for also sending me an absolutley lovely flower box. THANKS!

I wil be lying low for a the next few days to try and get as much rest as I can I am so tired.

Just a quick post this morning as I am off to do some scrap shopping! Wayne and I got back from Nambucca Heads yesterday, we had a lovely time at his parents. Jacob is still there and I am sure it talking his granddads head off!

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Thanks to everyone for your friendship over the past year, I look forward to 2008 and having more adventures with you!

Thanks to GypsyAngel it was you who started me on this scrapping journey by organising the retreat at Mt Tambourine and me having the guts to go even though I didnt know anyone. So thank you! To those I have met this year what a wondeful bunch you all are and I feel special by being apart of your lives.

Hi Everyone

OK so Jacob is on his thirds week of school hols now, he hasn't done all that much. He announced a couple of days ago he doesn't want to do much as he needs to rest his mind after a long year! Good grief! I will brag though he got his best ever report card. He did work very hard this last semester. Things will always be hard but he really wants to do well!

Last Saturday we went to a our friend Adam birthday BBQ, had a lovely time. I got to see his little nephew Tom is is gorgeous. I took a few photos and am going to put together a layout for his Mum and Dad. I have some photos of the party as well but the batteries died in the camera yesterday and i have searched hi and low and cant find any in the house. Must remember to buy some this week!

My house will be the place to be on Saturday when a Scrapchat forum friend is visiting from Melbourne and us Brissie girls are getting together for some scrapping although most likely we will end up chatting away the day. I am really looking forward to it.

Now for all those people who dont use Facebook and havent seen my sisters photos of the family trip in Sweden here are some. I can get over how much I am missing them, but I am now a facebook lover! Sorry about the size of the photo dont know why they are small.

Hi All

Dont have much to share this week. No layouts, not photos just worked this week which is an effort in itself. Shona and Thomas left for Sweden on Friday night, by all acocunts the flight with the boys did not go well. The boys didnt sleep and played up a lot. They were exahusted by the time they landed in Stockholm. Hopefully after some sleep all will be well!

OK so here is some blantant advertising. Please come and visit the Scrapchat forum. It is a hive a activity with lots of chat and fun. You dont have to be a scrapper although I wont say you want get hooked when you see the talented works of its members! There is now a gallery which is full of great layouts (not mine yet though oops must get to that!). So hop on over and join in!

Early Christmas

The family celebrated Christmas dinner on Saturday. I know it's a bit early but my sister and her family fly out for Sweden this Friday and will miss Christmas. Unfortunately Wayne wasn't here though, he wont be back until a day or so before Christmas.

The Rafferty 3 joined us as is tradition . It was quite a sedate evening by our normal standards but still enjoyable. The usual spread of food, roast pork, ham with a Swedish twist, chicken and roast beef, roast veggies, apple sauce and heaps of nibbles. As usual we had way to much food but it always makes good the next day! Mum did all the cooking this year and did an awesome job!

Now that Oliver and Lillian have a better understanding of Christmas it is so much fun to see the faces of Small children when they see presents under the tree. Oskar got into as well, he loves opening presents. As soon as Oliver arrived he went straight to the tree, he worked out one of his and opened it before we had a chance to see him. Jacob received a Helicopter Meccano set which he put together on Sun day morning, it is now sitting pride of place in the family room - Thanks Kerri, Adam and Lillian. I got a 'PINK"2008 Calendar some of you who are reading this will know how happy that made me, and some gorgeous earrings and necklace. Thanks!!!!

It was strange not waking up on Sunday and it not being Christmas day, it is amazing how a change in routine makes you feel LO. We will have a quiet Christmas eve this year and will head up to the Sunny Coast on Christmas day to spend the day at Nana's, she came down this weekend so another trip so close it just not on. Boxing day Wayne, Jacob and I (if I have the week off) will head off to Nambucca Heads to spend a few days with PIL and Jacob will remain there for about a week after that. He is really looking forward to it.

End of the Year

Well Jacob finishes Year 5 tomorrow, I cant believe how fast this year has gone. His class had a party today and has another one tomorrow.

The year has had some ups and downs but that is to be expected I guess. Some of the highlights were

Starting at a new school
Making friends quicker than he ever has before
Developing a great relationship with his teacher
Starting to learn an instrument and other languages
Getting up in front of Grade 5 parents/friends and teachers for a Night of the Notables where he was Steve Waugh - this was an awesome evening
Taking part in the narrater group last night for a French play
One of the biggest achievements for him is that he wants to go to school!

We have had some more difficult occasions but we can learn from these and not dwell on them.

I and Wayne are so proud of our boy he has come so far this year and we couldnt ask for anything more. We love you!

I was going to put some pictures on here but blogger seems to be having a few issues.

Hi All

I have not completed any layouts this week, I have so many to get finished by the end of the week for November challenges. Its a pretty daunting task really as I have unpacked from the retreat. I know pretty unorganised of me, but I think I want to change the study around a bit so don’t want to unload to just move everything. Well that’s what I am telling myself.

I received a CD containing everyone’s photos from the retreat - thanks Peggy you are an absolute star!!!! My mind was spinning looking through them and thinking about all the layouts I want to do.

What a Weekend!!!!

Well we Arrived,

we Ate,

we Shopped,

we Sing Starred,

we Scrapped and

we most certainly had a Great Time.

I managed to complete 4 layouts and lost the artist flow after Sing Star came out. I have never sang in front of people like I did on Saturday and some people who read my blog will confirm that. With such a wonderful bunch of girls it was hard not to be relaxed and let the barriers down.

Retreat Here We Come

Only 3 more days until the big event. I am so excited, cant wait to see everyone again. I was on the way to being organised but that has fallen over LOL. I received my raffle prize yesterday, it has such lovely goodies I am eager to start using them. Now it has arrived I can finalise my layout packs for the weekend.

I have only completed a couple of layouts this week. Both are for challenges. I am having heaps of fun with challenges at the moment and it is really helping me to improve my layouts I think. I have a few more to do for this month and will hopefully get them done on the weekend!

My Week

Hi Everyone

I thought I would share some news, layouts since my last post.

Where do I start - hmm

I won the ScrapbookNBits Breast Cancer Raffle. I am so excited I cant wait for my parcel to arrive it has over $100 worth of products! I will post a pick when it arrives.

I have also spent my CC winnings, I received the goodies today. Can I just say that Karen over at ScrapbookNBits has a fabulous store and provides excellant service. Make sure you go and visit!

Time has almost arrived for the QLD Girls Retreat at Warana being organised by ScrapManda. ScrapManda has arranged some great challenges and I am even taking a photo of me for one! Only for you Manda! I cant wait to see everyone. Tonight I am starting to get my packs together.

I have completed a few more layouts in the past week and I still have a few on the go for the Monthly Challenges at ScrapChat, Scrapbooknbits and StampShak. I joined StampShak last week, the foum is run by the awesome Michelle Jamieson (ChelleJamo). Scrapchat is also becoming a hive of activity with new members arriving everyday. GypsyAngel you are a star!

Dont think there is too much more to tell, Jacob is doing well. Although he has started the countdown to Christmas. He starts his holidays at the start of December and has 10 weeks off! Wayne will be home this weekend and is taking him out fishing.

My layout share is one I completed this week. The photo is of one of the most important person I have in my life, Tina. I hope you like it.

Yeppoon Visit

Well I am up and running. Not sure I am completely happy with the look of the page yet, might have to do some more tweaking I think.

Some of you know that I have had Glandular Fever, I have had a crappy couple of days my head is aching again and I cant seem to stay awake for long. I am so over it!!!

I thought I would share some photos from our recent trip to Yeppoon, we had a fantastic time. The resort was full to the brim with activities we never left.

Water slide fun, the water slide was open twice a day, I don't think Jacob missed one session!

Jacob, Me and a camel called Capricorn! Capricorn was a mischievous camel, every time we went near a hanging branch from a tree she want to stop and eat it. The branches kept flying in our faces I thought we were going to fall off from all our giggling!

Hello and Welcome

After much procrastination I have finally started this Blog. I hope to share my goings on, photos and my scrapbooking efforts.

I hope to share some layouts I have completed in the last few days, I was inspired by the Girls Night In event arranged by ScrapManda. ScrapManda did a fabulous job and managed to raise almost $1000 to go towards Breast Cancer Research. It was a great night.

Jacob came home today with a couple of small gifts from his French teacher, he managed to accumulate merit points for his effort and eagerness to learn. Nothing like bribery to get the work done!

I was hoping to place some photos on here tonight but there is an error showing that this is not working tonight.
